About Maat Family

The concept of Maat Family was the brainchild of Janette Bremner following many years helping parents to enjoy their children after days, weeks, months and sometimes even years of struggle. Working with parents needing anything from brief advice regarding infant feeding to intense behaviour management of children with additional developmental needs, she has the rare ability to help parents experience real change in their family. She is qualified in child health, development and behaviour. She registered as a nurse in the UK over 30 years ago, gained a nurse prescriber qualification for the UK and subsequently achieved a BSc (Hons) in Community Health. She is registered as a Health Visitor and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse and has achieved a postgraduate diploma in Law and subsequently completed the Bar Professional Training Course. She specialised in child health, has a current police clearance, is trained in child safeguarding, domestic abuse, breastfeeding, child sleep management and was a senior clinical member of the UK National Health Service for over two decades. She has since moved to Spain with her partner Andy. She has two grown children aged 24 and 20.
Based in Benalmadena she is available for virtual consultations and will offer face to face locally or
further afield as needed. She has an extensive history of working with families with complex needs and various parenting challenges. A long accolade of satisfied clients have gained good routines, a happier, more structured family life and a deeper understanding of their children’s needs in relation to their sleep and behaviour. Whatever your parenting challenges she can help you find a solution and an increased sense of positivity towards your children and your family life.

Janette Bremner

“Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help you turn your difficult parenting times into those that you will be able to look back on with fondness. A happy family is not achieved simply by being given advice. When a family is in disharmony or crisis it cannot be fixed by a one-size-fits-all solution. Reading a book or asking a friend or family member often cannot give you the results you find you need. Many families l have worked with have lost their way with their parenting and good non-judgmental help is needed to understand how things can get back on track. I can help you to understand why your baby or child is behaving the way they are and how your reactions can impact this. I will help you work through a plan, reassess it as we go and advise regularly at each stage dependant on what occurs. At the end of our work together I will give pointers for the future and will be available for further consultations if required. After working with me you will have a renewed sense of positivity and ability to cope. I really look forward to getting started on this journey with you."
